ARISE Thematic webinars on equity and education – Theoretical foundations & Examples of good policies and practices

As a replacement activity for the planned Study visits that were postponed due to the current pandemic emergency situation, two thematic webinarswere held in May for the ARISE consortium.

An introductory webinar on the issue of poverty in education was held by Lana Jurko and excerpts from the session on poverty implications in education and myths and factors that influence teaching and learning are available here. Second webinar was focused on the presentation of good policies, practices and initiatives: universal system approach to low SES students and families from Estonia, emergency policies targeting low SES students and families and intersectoral collaboration during the COVID-19 from Bulgaria and “Every child's right to a school meal” initiative from Croatia as an example of bottom-up approach initiative.
